All About HDMI

Many consumers are aware there’s a “special” cable to connect their HD sources and displays. That cable is HDMI, High Definition Multimedia Interface. This paper talks about what this cable is, what’s inside it, and how it works. HDMI cables can be compared by testing them for “eye patterns”. So what does an eye pattern mean? When parts of it are open or closed, what does that tell out about the cable? This presentation will show you eye pattern tests results from various kinds of HDMI. Not all HDMI cable is the same!

As usual, our luncheon will be at Sinbad’s just south of the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero near the foot of Mission St. No-Host Bar is from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m., and lunch is at 12:30. Everything winds down at 2:00 p.m. Cost is $22.00, which includes coffee and iced tea.
