The SMPTE San Francisco Section is trying a new meeting venue this month. On Thursday, January 29, they’re gathering at the Blue Pheasant Restaurant in Cupertino for Al Kovalick’s presentation, “A Brief History of the Second”, which will include time-keeping, measurement, and distribution methods for media and broadcast applications.

Scott Esterson of Genelec will talk about Genelec’s new DSP Series Speakers that will equalize your room and compensate for both video latency from the monitor and time of flight issues due to speaker placement. Also he will go over proper placement techniques.
