SBE 40 Special News: The death of Phil Lerza

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

By Paul T. Black

The subject line above says it all. Phil Lerza, my friend, my mentor, and I daresay, my brother, is not with us here on earth anymore.
I write this in a daze, as if I wasn’t even sitting here. Suddenly the world has a sense of unreality about it.
There are not very many people in broadcasting who can truly be called “giants”, but Phil, by virtue of his amazing accomplishments, deserves that title as much as anyone ever could.
The usual meeting announcement will be issued tomorrow, as always. I hope to have some further details by then. Nonetheless, any news that we find out will be either on the SBE 40 website or will be sent out, via the mailing list, as soon as possible.

Services for Phil are Friday, April 20th, 1:30 PM
