SBE Luncheon - September 30th
Bob Heil - Heil Sound
It’s a packed meeting announcement this month, so heads up.
First and foremost, It’s easy to wax eloquent about Bob Heil, as he’s not only some of the best products in the industry, he also is a wonderful guy, and has some of the greatest stories around. You may know that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and justifiably so. Bob is always a hot ticket so RSVP’s are VERY IMPORTANT for this meeting.
A big “thank-you” to all of you who have already RSVP’d for the upcoming meeting on the 30th. If you HAVE done so you DO NOT have to contact me again. If you have NOT DONE SO then YOU DO have to register again. Easiest way; hit “reply” on your e-mail and send it back to me. I think that should be easy enough for everyone.
Bob is also appearing at the Sacramento Auto Museum at 2200 Front Street to play their Wurlitzer organ (yes, he does that too). Concert starts at 2:00 p.m. and you will need to buy your way into the museum to see him.
PAGE TWO; Another local celebrity from our business, Phil Lerza, is going to be inducted into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame, on the 29th, at the Legends of Broadcasting meeting. Information is at www.BARHOF.com. As an old friend, colleague, and former employee, I thoroughly approve of this. No one deserves it more. Congratulations, old buddy.
PAGE THREE: I’ll reproduce the e-mail I got from Mike LaPorte here: “If you would be so kind, (please mention) the event featuring yet another special seminar sponsored by Middle Atlantic. The President and CEO, Bob Schluter puts on a tremendous and helpful hands-on seminar. KTVU-TV Studio B, at 2 Jack London Square in Oakland is the venue. The program is on a Saturday, October 24th, from 10am to 2pm. Lunch will be served. Plenty of FREE parking too. Robert Erdiakoff, Production Engineer is our contact at KTVU.” So there you go. I understand that rack grounding will be one of the topics, as well as station grounding in general. Good chance to refresh your understanding of this subject.
Sinbad’ Restaurant at Pier 2, as always, is the meeting place. Wednesday the 30th of September is the date and the times are 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. No-Host bar starts at 11:30 and we sit down to lunch around 12:30, with the presentation at 1:00 p.m. or so. As mentioned above RSVP’s ARE VERY IMPORTANT. Please do so, if you haven’t. If you would rather call then 925-270-9817 is the number. Operators are standing by.
