Annual FCC meeting

First meeting of the year, and it’s certainly appropriate that our friends from the local office of the FCC should kick things off. Led by Mr. Thomas VanStavern, the topics to be discussed MAY include the Report and Order regarding low power operation (that is, wireless mics), and of course members will have an opportunity to bring up relevant questions of their own. Also, if the weather cooperates, the new “DF Vehicle” will be scheduled for an appearance. (You can run, but you can’t hide from RDF…)

Sinbad’S Restaurant at Pier 2, as always, is the meeting place. Wednesday the 27th of January is the date and the times are 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. No-Host bar starts at 11:30 and we sit down to lunch around 12:30, with the presentation at 1:00 p.m. or so. Please RSVP by calling 925-522-9342 before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday the 24th.

Turkey Time Again…. Bob Schluter - Middle Altantic

A reminder that there is a special seminar sponsored by Middle Atlantic. The President and CEO, Bob Schluter puts on a tremendous and helpful hands-on seminar on grounding systems.  KTVU-TV Studio B, at 2 Jack London Square in Oakland is the venue and Saturday, October 24th, from 10am to 2pm is the date and time. Bob Heil - Heil Sound

It’s a packed meeting announcement this month, so heads up.

First and foremost, It’s easy to wax eloquent about Bob Heil, as he’s not only some of the best products in the industry, he also is a wonderful guy, and has some of the greatest stories around.  You may know that he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and justifiably so.  Bob is always a hot ticket so RSVP’s are VERY IMPORTANT for this meeting.

Nautel - Ellis Terry

Our old friend Ellis Terry is the presenter this month, and as you may know, he recently made the jump to Nautel.  I’ve waxed eloquent about their transmitters now for a long time, having recently been a dealer for them, and the bottom line about their products is simple; they work.  They work well, and they work continuously.  That’s as good as it gets when it come to rigs.

Also, Nautel is hosting our lunch!  This is the second month in a row for that.  Talk about being on a roll…!
